yes it is genetic, the chance of inheritance depends on the genetics of your partner... if ur partner doesn't have a stutter and doesn't carry the gene that causes stuttering chances of inheritance are very low (<25% ), however if he does have a stutter chances would be very high (>75%). this is a simplified answers, i suggest looking further into it (its basic genetics it wouldn't be hard to find reliable information about it)
