Just a little thought that came into my head. Elementary school and High school are probably the main reasons why you care so much about your stutter. Elementary and High School are (Lets be fucking honest here) completely shitty times in your life to be a person who stutters. I feel like some of the main reasons are because people haven't fully matured yet and don't quite comprehend what it would be like to live with a stutter. Thus, leading me into my next point. High School and Elementary Schools have a more defined idk wtf else to call it besides 'Social Class' where the popular kids would be the 'rich' the average kids with a decent amount of friends would be about middle class, and the people who don't have a lot of friends or none at all, would be considered 'poor'. And the 'rich' kids would always pick on the 'poor' to feel better about themselves and to look cool in front of their peers. And I think that most kids straight out of high school going to college, or to do whatever, still think that they are still socially considered 'poor' when in fact in the real world, people don't really give a fuck. Everyone is just trying to do their own thing but your mind (Straight out of High school) is still thinking of the 'social class' scenario. It's just trying to break that fictional mental social status barrier that you'll improve significantly, yeah you'll probably still have problems, but who doesn't. Every average person on this Earth is trying to get by some way or some how, and if they are still in that High School social status bullshit just get the fuck away from them. I don't know if any of this made sense but I just thought of it after reading a couple comments on the sub. TL;DR The transition from High School to the real world gets people who stutter in their heads and think that people will treat them like they did in elementary/high school, when 9/10 they won't.
