I got a big boy-ish job! (Words of encouragement) I’m 26 & I had an interview for a company as a lab tech. I have no experience & I absolutely stuttered my ass off (I have more than a mild stutter to say the least) during the interview. I informed them ahead of time that I have a speech impediment & I maintained my bubbly personality. Well, a couple days later I got a call saying I got the job! Moral of the story, keep striving & keep stuttering. I understand this was a “best case scenario” & other experiences are very shitty, but I’m reveling in this win! We tend to play victim & feel sorry for ourselves about our speech barrier, but that’s never going to get us anywhere. Just wanted to share some good news & reinforce that if someone like me, who has a SEVERE stutter, can get an “adult job” then so can all of you!
