I actually didn’t learn this speech therapy, I didn’t learn anything in speech therapy that actually helped lol. Great article, I think I actually agree with it— I am definitely not saying (I hope my post didn’t come off this way) that there’s anything wrong with how we breathe. I did say that I don’t think the technique works *in general* But the talking-on-exhale thing DOES help get past blocks— so basically you’re doing it, like, once in a sentence, or however often a block comes up. It’s not something you’re doing regularly while speaking. For me blocks are by far the worst part of stuttering, so having a reliable way to get past a block is a game changer! And just to note, you don’t really “sound fluent” when you do this (I don’t care about sounding fluent), speaking on an exhale is not a normal way of speaking so it still sounds like something strange is going on to the listener, but at least you’re not stuck forever on one word
