Something similar happens to me. When I stutter (can be in person or on phone), my eyes blur and I tend to look to the side. I'm so focused on trying to talk that I can't focus on my surroundings. I have this problem where, even if I talk to people in person, I don't remember their face because I wasn't looking at them at all. This affects me at work. I work at a grocery store. When a customer asks if we have something in the back I have to go check of course. Then as I'm coming back I have some trouble remembering what they looked like. \--- I should try looking in the mirror while talking on the phone. That sounds interesting as I can't stutter when talking to myself.
