I was working with a colleague who had a stutter for some time and I'm wondering how do you expect the other person to act like when they're listening to you speak? *I'm genuinely curious and I dont mean to come off as rude or ignorant* So he obviously took a long time to speak out sentences, I would just look at his eyes and wait for him to say what he wanted to say. Do I just stare at their eyes? I do that and at times I felt awkward, I felt like I'm bot giving them space to speak but at the same time I don't want my gaze to wonder off cuz it might look like I'm not being attentive. So I usually just look them in the eyes and give an occasional nod. But I want to know what's the best way you'd like to be listened to in comfortable, awkward free way? Please lmk. Thanks.
