My parents always wanted me to "fix" my stutter. My mom was more of a "don't talk like that" (she has a stutter) and my dad was more of a "go on YouTube and practice speech therapy" (no stutter). They both made me self conscious growing up. Luckily I learned at an early age to accept myself and I haven't been self conscious since. But my mom still complains about it so I just avoid answering her calls/seeing her 🥱 The goal is comfort and confidence. Once you achieve that, life gets a little easier
