you cannot approach this so bitterly, the scenario you’re describing is just people trying to relate to you. maybe it comes from a place of ignorance but then it’s your job to explain if you feel you have to, or just move on. I’m 100% sure over the many times I’ve been told this that it wasn’t said to discredit me a single time
