The SpeechEasy is a delayed auditory feedback (DAF) device that fits in your ear like a hearing air. It tricks your brain into thinking you are speaking in unison with yourself. This significantly increases fluency. This device is a great tool in combination with speech therapy. It is not a functional device for everyday life. Because it is DAF, EVERYTHING you hear in that ear is delayed and possibly amplified. Television, background noise (clinking of silverware at restaurants was the worst) other people’s voices, etc. It is also very costly. Mine cost $4000. It is a fight to get insurance to pay for it. Mine never did. You are better off spending the money on a speech therapist trained in treating stuttering.
