Ever use assistive technology for speech?

Ever use assistive technology for speech? I for the most part am not too bothered by my speech issues, but sometimes on particularly difficult days it gets really frustrating. I went out for coffee a few days ago and blocked like crazy trying to say my order, I felt kinda embarrassed but mostly I was anxious that I was taking up a lot of time. Then I thought of how much easier that entire interaction could’ve been if I didn’t have to speak at all, and I remembered that text to speech exists! So I downloaded a free app and ordered my coffee the next day using the app. I can’t see myself using the app very much, but I am glad that I have it! There have been a few times in my life where I haven’t been able to speak when I needed to (not talking about ordering coffee lol), now this is an option.
