It’s the exact opposite for me. I need to avoid breathing into my rib cage and use diaphragmatic breathing instead. When I breathe shallowly and rapidly, it goes into my upper chest and ribcage. I’ll feel like I’m hyperventilating and everything locks up. Diaphragmatic breathing relaxes me and then I can talk. Also I take magnesium every day and it did nothing to prevent blocks. What works best for me is breathing properly, a slight smile, positive thinking, word stretching, and light contact.
