Im so glad i found this I've been stuttering for as long as I can remember. I got help from a speech professional (can't remember the actual name of the job), and she helped me for many years. But now that she's retired, I've fallen back into extreme stuttering. I know no one in real life who share my stuttering. My mom says that my dad also stutters, but even if he stutters, it's unnoticeable and unproblematic, so I wouldn't compare me and him in that way at all. Due to nobody in my life possibly being able to relate to this, I feel very alone and have been spiraling into depression along with other mental health issues for rhe past 3 years. Today, I half-jokingly searched "stutter" in the reddit search bar, and was astounded to see there was an actual subreddit with people i relate to, and vice versa. I still have a lot of mental health issues, but this was a nice experience, that will probably lighten that load a little bit. (also sorry if my writing is hard to read, i write in the same order as i think)
