I (26M) went to a restaurant party not that long ago, and this guy was making a congratulations speech to the host - he stuttered too, and it was the first time i saw anyone else at it. And to my shock, i felt no compassion or anything. What i felt was embarrassment and annoyance with him, like, “why won’t you just speak fluently, it’s so painfully awkward to be here listening to you” kind of thing. Like, for real, i always felt offended when other people would react like that to my own stuttering, but that one time when the tables were turned, i was no different No big point here, just saying
