Ridiculous things I've done (or thought) to try and "help" myself sound more "normal" during a phone interview Hey everyone, I'm starting a new job search and of course I have some insecurities when interviewing for jobs. Luckily, I'm feeling more confident and comfortable with myself this time around, but it reminds me of some crazy thoughts I've had on how to seem more normal when interviewing. And I wanted to share them because I know that others have felt as desperate as I did when I had these thoughts. So here they are - * Reject all phone interviews and wait for an in-person interview (Tried this, didn't work) * Hire an actor to pretend to be me during phone interviews (Thought about this a lot, never did it) * Record myself answering the phone and introducing myself, then using that to answer the phone when I knew I was about to start a phone interview (I did this...tried it a few times....didn't help me too much) * Trying to figure out a way to sing while sounding like I'm talking normally (Never tried this) * Drinking some wine before an interview (Tried this, didn't help)
