Would those brain implants work?

Would those brain implants work? I'm sure we've all been told that the stutter is a "glitch we have to live with" and its obviously going to be in the brain. I remember hearing about these brain implants, or chips that have helped people with ticks and seizures and whatnot. I wonder if that could also be applied to stuttering ?
