Guys I'm also suffering with developmental stuttering very severe from small. I'm now 26 and it's still bad. I haven't had a girlfriend before, hardly leave my house and I don't have many friends. I have very strong social anxiety especially with girls. I felt like nothing was going right in my life. I tried many different techniques like prolonged speech, whispering my words , talking normal and singing but nothing works. Until a month ago I came across a speech pathologists video on YouTube for the ( PAUSING and PHRASING technique). She clearly said we should try speaking slightly slower with a dead stop after every few words to give ourselves times to process. So I decided to give it a shot. Instead of couple words I decided to pause after EVERY WORD. It felt strange and robotic at first but I was practicing it daily for 40 minutes after every 30 minutes. Sounds crazy huh lol. But yes ! THAT MUCH ! On some days I'd get tired and slack on it but I always found ways to focus.. maybe reading a book loud or just generally talking as if someone was with me. I kept practicing for about a month until my brain got adjusted to it then automatically I felt less weird about it. I took it into my daily conversations slowly and became use to it. Everyone now says I've improved so much. I've also started using Ksm 66 Ashwagandha PrimeSelf for anxiety and stress so that I can use the technique with lesser awareness in public. I don't feel stressed or even think so much. Now I can have normal conversations with people. But the technique won't work same time. You need to train your mouth and brain to adjust to it better so it doesn't feel forced in conversations. I was so deck of stuttering..it ruined sooo many things for me.. basically my entire childhood and teenage life I've had this issue and it kept me from reaching my potential socially especially with girls. Not to brag but I'm hot , so being good looking and not able to be social with girls was killing me until I decided I needed to push myself and sort this out. I still stutter but with this technique I learn how to control it better. You can say my stuttering has reduced by about 70%. It's still with me...but I'm controlling it by pausing after every word. Not too slow but just right for it to sound normal. Please guys , there's no need for speech therapy when you can do it yourself at home. Now that this ecopipam meds is potentially coming out for sale, things will surely get better from here hopefully but I'm not fully depending on it. I'm working hard to fully master this technique and to feel more comfortable using it around girls.
