First I told my barber I was straight up, told him that I was seeing a speech therapist for my stutter. To my surprise he knew already, didn't want to bring it up unless I brought it up first and he admitted that he had one when he was younger. From there I told my friends I was seeing a very beautiful young lady, then I went on to explain that she was my speech therapist (this just suits my sense of humour) They admitted that they knew already and that they didn't want to bring it up. If it taught me anything we think we're hiding our stutter but the people we talk to know our speech patterns are different, some might even know that we're stutterers. It's best to talk about the elephant in the room and tell others that we stutter. I struggle with doing it too, so far I've told my friends and only one stranger, but I've always felt better after doing it
