A similar thing happened to me at a McDonalds drive through , although a bit more friendly. I was stuttering the word "um" several times, and eventually the woman behind the speaker said "sorry sir, we don't serve um's here!" I was shocked for a moment , but honestly it was a pretty good one, so I let it go and was magically able to say my order haha
