Tips for Phone Interviews When I started my first "real" job hunt a few years ago after graduating from school, I got multiple job offers despite my stutter. I disclosed at the beginning of the interview. Back then, I was in a different part of the USA and companies were mainly going straight to the in-person interview. Some did phone calls but a lot didn't. I do VERY well in-person but I do not do well on the phone. I have since been promoted and moved to the opposite side of the country. I don't really like the role I was promoted to so I have been interviewing for jobs for the past month now, in a tech city. I don't even have to apply for jobs: I get 1-2 requests a day from different companies asking if I am interested. Because they reach out to me, I have to go through a lot of phone calls and a lot of video interviews. I usually make it past the phone screen but a lot of times I do not make it past the phone interview. Tomorrow morning I have a phone screen with my DREAM company. They reached out to me. If I don't get this job, I will be pretty disappointed. I have been doing interviews/phone screens almost every weekday for the past month. Even though I have been practicing a lot (rehearsing and doing real life phone interviews), I still stutter and bomb phone interviews. :( Any tips for the phone? Usually I disclose my stutter and that relaxes me but that still doesn't help me on the phone. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated! Should I use a headset, Bluetooth, walk, sit down? Take a chill pill (literally?) Thanks. EDIT: I got the job!!! Thanks everyone for the help and support! :)
