One of the lead characters in Stephen King’s “It” is a kid named Bill who stutters. Notably while the stutter does result in insecurities and bullying for the character, he is also portrayed as the leader of his friend group and arguably the most prominent of the seven lead characters. We see that the school bully in the book tends to target the friend group with whatever differences he can point to, bullying them for being black, Jewish, overweight, female, having glasses, and having asthma. So Bill is targeted for his stutter.
