For those who’s social skills are lacking because of their stutter or those who are afraid to talk or start conversations with people. When I was a kid and up to when I was 16, my social skills were very bad because i was insecure about my stutter. I use to always withdraw from conversations because people used to pick on me a lot. When I got my first job when I was 16, I was forced to talk and engage with people and it made it worse but as I started talking more and seeing the same customers and seeing that they were patient with me, my stutter has lighten up and my social skills have gotten better. I’ve even became a manager and i had more responsibilities like talking on the phone which i really hate and still do struggle with. I’ve noticed that a lot or if not most people don’t care if you stutter or not. I’m 22 now and my social skills are much better compared to back then and when I stutter, I make sure they hear every last damn word I say and if I need to repeat myself, I do it. You don’t really need to do much. Just compliment someone on their outfit or something nice they have and take little steps from there. Don’t ever feel bad or take your stutter personal. And if people make fun of you, well they can go f*** themselves.
