I wasn't being clever, that's honestly the answer. We stutter because we are people who stutter. If you're asking why people stutter, that's a more complicated question involving neurobiology and genetics. People assume aot of things about people who stutter. A lot of it is wrong. Stuttering is also very individual so while some experiences are common, we can generalize across for PWS. I also stutter when I'm alone, although not as much. There's nothing weird or wrong about it. Others don't and there's nothing weird or wrong about that either. Now if you block or substitute when you're alone, that is more unusual, but those are all part of the bag of tricks we've learned to not show stuttering.
