Hey! I have a really bad stutter, I was in speech therapy from age 2 through about 15-16 and I stopped going simply Bc I hated being that kid in school who went to therapy. I use to have a sort of irritated feeling when folks would say “ugh I stutter” but speak just fine. But then I realized who am I to invalidate what someone else believes you know? It seems like you’re using stuttering as a means of identity, much like someone saying “oh I’m Native American” or “I’m bisexual”. Which I would recommend maybe not viewing your stutter as your identity Bc then you may feel your stutter is what consumes you and your identity? When in reality you’re a very competent, human being and having a speech impediment shouldn’t deter that! Hope that helps!
