What I recommend you to do to work on your hexagon is when you have positive or negative emotions, note which part of the hexagon they relate to. If you go to talk with the waitress but you stutter on what you say, maybe it’s because you didn’t commit as much as you should with your “intentions”. Or maybe it’s a “physiological response” of anxiety, so then you should do more deep breathing, etc. before approaching her. You have to constantly relate your experience in its entirety to each part of the hexagon you see it belonging to. And write down your approach/avoidance conflicts (your competing desires), such as the desire to speak vs. the desire to not speak to stay safe from embarrassment). And out of these approach/avoidance conflicts, make mini goals to release one of the desires for the one that is better. For example, if you are afraid to stutter in front of the banker, then go to the bank and stutter on purpose to the banker. This will allow your brain to freely forget about your original fear so you can go in the direction of a more positive hexagon. Also, use everything you can health-wise to your benefit. As well as new psychology that you learn. Healthy foods, good sleep, etc. And new mindsets you may learn at speakers clubs, YouTube channels on socializing, etc. You gotta just feel for the door into a more powerful speaking personality and overall living. And when you find those doors, take a leap of faith and go into them. “Beyond Stammering: The Dave McGuire Program for getting good at the Sport of Speaking” pairs very well with “Redeafining Stuttering”.
