A recent poster has said that Abilify, Aripiprazole ended his stuttering. In my own case my stuttering ended while I was prescribed Abilify for 12 months and although I had to discontinue it, the fluency remained for an additional 6 months. I had very severe side effects from Abilify and we never consciously realized that my fluency was attributable only to the Abilify. I was undergoing intense psychotherapy at the time as well. That medicine has even been known to trigger stuttering or make it worse. That makes sense because it seems to target the brain’s D-2 receptor…. For better or worse. New on the horizon, Google and YouTube Dr. Gerald Maguire. He is doing medication related research to find a drug to treat stuttering. I believe he’s getting close to success.
