Another word for stuttering?

Another word for stuttering? I don't know, I just really hate saying stuttering or stutter. For one, I usually block on it, which is horrible, and for two, it's just taken so lightly by the GP. Like, they think of Porky Pig or someone "getting roasted and then stuttering". Sometimes I call it chronic disfluency, but that doesn't seem quite right.
