I met my SO in college. We initially met in class and were going to meet up with a full group in the library after class to work on homework and such. But eventually the rest of the group stopped going and it was just us. And I had the excuse to stay and hang out because i wanted to wait for traffic to die down. They were uncomfortable at first because they weren't sure how the severity of my stutter would affect our dynamic. But after a few days or weeks, they realized how fun it was to be around me. They invited me to their birthday party and we've been together for 4 years since. Moral of the story (i guess): make friends in your major or related interests and you might be surprised
