Stutter varies depending on what we do. To wit: >**pretended** like I was talking to a real person (using emotion and energy while speaking) The operative word here is important. When you're _pretending_, you're not actually _doing_ the real thing. Speaking is performance, and we have to perform in different ways in various contexts. That's where the stutter variance becomes a factor. Best thing we can do is become familiar with how we react in the situations where we have to perform. :) (And of course, we might benefit from speech therapeutical techniques for managing our stutter when it happens.)
