My childhood speech pathologist used to call it "super slow speech," a term my mother still says to me whenever I block - I'm 20 now. It helps with my "wh" sounds, but I still have one hell of a hard time saying "bl" words trying that method. It's like it gets caught in my lips. And don't even get me started about vowels. But without those limitations, dragging out the first word helps a ton. :)
