No cuz who can say for sure that there isn't an afterlife? If you say that you can swear that there is nothing after death you're just overconfident, there's no proof of an afterlife and no proof of it's absence so neutrality is what's reasonable. What makes death so scary is that we don't know what comes next, I'm not religious but sometimes I get scared about an afterlife, everyone is at a moment in their life whether they are religious or not, anyways op could be religious but all I'm saying is that you don't have to be religious to be scared of dying. And maybe I'm reading you wrong but you seem to be quite passionate about not liking religion, so you could be said to be a strong believer yourself
