u/hellatightboi, The EWU Foundation is a registered non-profit 501c3. You can see public records using their Tax ID 91-1019819. The the university manages their finances and gives them a place to host the program. It is not a university course. All intensive stuttering programs, as far as I know are not covered under insurance. The SSMP is reputable and on the [Stuttering Foundation's Intensive Clinics referral list](https://www.stutteringhelp.org/clinics-intensive). I do not work for the SSMP nor do I regularly fund raise for Emily. I went through the program in 2012, and it was a remarkable experience for me. I'm running a marathon and wanted to support the SSMP and pay it forward since I was a Nic Waitt Memorial Scholarship recipient. If you have any further doubts you can contact [Jane Fraser](https://www.stutteringhelp.org/corporate-directors), president of The Stuttering Foundation and [Tammy Flores](https://westutter.org/staff/), Executive Director of the National Stuttering Association. I've collaborated with them both on this effort and they have proudly sponsored my run and support this initiative 100%. They'd be happy to chat with you too.
