I'm sorry that happened to you. Truly an awful experience and that I hope isn't still eating you up. I would suggest therapy. The most Important aspect of therapy for me, is finding a truly qualified speech language pathologist in fluency disorders (stuttering). May I ask where you're from? Maybe I know someone nearby (free to pm). However, the single individual thing I can recommend to help is encouraging you to go to the annual NSA conference https://westutter.org/conference/. If you've never really done anything about your stutter and don't know much about it, I can't recommend the conference enough.
