I’ll challenge your comparison. If you were to walk into a party naked, everyone would know that you chose to do that and would think you were very strange. I’m pretty sure it’s obvious to other people that when we stutter it’s not by choice. That’s the reason we don’t need to feel ashamed about it, it’s not our choice and not our fault.
