I feel like as stutterers we need to start suing jobs that discriminate against us. Money is the only thing that speaks and stuttering as a disability is not taken very seriously by a lot of people despite the overwhelming evidence that it severely impacts everything. I’m not sure what the laws are in the UK but I am sure you are protected. For all future jobs we should always note incidences of discrimination and try to get hard evidence by having them write something down if they think we can’t do something because of the stutter. Also, yes ultimately we need to not care what people think but we shouldn’t let ourselves get walked all over in the process. Telling people not to care what others think is also impossible at times and doesn’t really solve anything in the long run.
