Doing phone interviews with speech difficulties. I've been unemployed for over 8 months. Any advice? I was laid off in April and I've been seeking employment ever since. I've had many phone screeners and interviews but not a single job offer. I stutter but my main difficulties are word retrieval and articulation. Despite having many phone interviews in the past, I still have issues communicating clearly to my interview. I am 100% certain that these issues eliminate my candidacy for every job. Should I mention something to the interviewer? Speaking slowly derails my train of thought. My job requires strong communication skills, which isn't much of a problem once I'm employed. I don't have to worry about saying the words the interviewer wants me to say and the consequences of my words are life-changing. I appreciate any advice you can provide. I need help.
