Me and one of my younger sisters were both in speech therapy when we were younger and a lesson that they taught us that didn't really work for me but helped alot for her was slowing down and planning out your words before speaking. It never really worked for me because my stutter usually only comes out when I'm really excited or get really into a conversation (destroyed my debate club confidence in early middle school when it first appeared). My sister on the other hand was a much more calm speaker so she describes this method as like having note cards for in your head and just reading from that.
