Yeah I found that at the start of class I would stutter a bit and just had to power through. Once I hit the flow and was feeling good the stutter would usually stop. Preparation was key for me along with getting lots of sleep. Sometimes there’d be a vocab word like write I really struggle with which was super stressful, but I learned to just play it off as an English is hard kind of thing. Honestly If you accept it as part of yourself it’s almost an advantage because it humanizes you so much. It was honestly one of the best things for me since it really gave me confidence in public speaking. Now I’m a successful sales rep who regularly presents in front of 40 plus adults on very technical topics. Don’t let the stutter define you! It’s like an extra personality quirk, nothing more. Let me know if you have any more questions about the ESL process. It was a blast and one of the best things I’ve done in my life.
