The reason we stutter more when we have to say our name is because there is no alternative for it. You can replace Bus Stop with Stop, Bus Stand, Stand where the bus comes, where can I get a bus from, etc. BUT you cannot replace John with Samantha. There are lots of reasons why we stutter specifically on our name. Change your name and you'd stutter just the same on it too. A better solution would be to get rid of the phobia of saying your name.
