I don't think it's the same thing as the fear of stuttering. I block quite a bit, and am pretty desensitized to it by this point, so don't mind too much when it happens. Like you said, there are certainly words that I don't stutter "pretty" on, but this is different. I guess I'm talking about the specific case where the word won't come out *no matter* how long I spend on it. With usual blocks, I'm "frozen" for a finite amount of time, but eventually the word comes out. I'm not too afraid of this, because I know that despite it being slightly awkward, it will eventually pass. I'm specifically afraid of not being able to say the word *at all*. Unlike usual blocks, where I just have to patiently wait, these words won't come out no matter how long I wait. If anything, it becomes harder the longer I wait, because my anxiety is directly proportional to the amount of time that has passed. What would you do in a situation where you're stuck on a word mid sentence, you attempt it a couple of times (audibly), but know that the entire word is not going to come out because of how anxious you are?
