Again, I understand why many people feel that way. At the same time, I’ve lived with my stutter long enough to have a more introspective approach about it. I’m not in the camp of “accepting” my stutter, I hate it with every fiber of being for ruining my life and career pursuits. So I don’t think it’s cut and dry as “they’re just assholes”. I think it’s just awkward because meeting someone who genuinely stutters is something they’re not accustomed to. I’m not saying they’re right, but I don’t resent them for it.
