I think on this sub someone commented that 80% of the negative thoughts people think about you are from yourself. I am in graduate school so I've gone through many many of those instructions myself and stutter through everyone lol. But even now that I sometimes teach college classes I'll still make my classes do this so I can get to know them. I find it helpful for myself to disclose my stutter to classes I take and I teach. I feel so anxious about addressing it directly but usually I feel better in general after knowing I cleared up any potential confusion or shock. It's not for everyone but I have benefited from it!
