Sorry to hear you’re struggling, man. Bottom line- stuttering is shit. I’m 34 and it still affects me in my daily life- prime example, I just picked up a script at the chemist and agonised about having to confirm my surname when it was ready. But, as you go through life, you realise that everyone has their own foibles and idiosyncrasies they’re worrying about and ultimately stuttering is just an (albeit very annoying) foible of ours that people ultimately don’t care about beyond initial mild curiosity. For context, I stuttered my way through primary and secondary school. Now I’m a doctor and still stutter like it’s going out of fashion, often work. But I make it work- and I know plenty of other doctors with stutters, too. You’re more than your stutter. It’s a shit cross to bear it won’t define you. Feel free to DM me if you need to vent.
