Most SLP who are experts in stuttering do not recommend HCRI as it has a fundamental misunderstanding of the problems of stuttering and how to address them. For example, you won't see HCRI at the National Stuttering Association conferences because their methods and philosophy are outdated and even harmful as they perpetuate the myth that fluency = success Having said all that, I know people who really like and have really benefited from fluency shaping programs, but they are a small minority. I agree, to each their own though.
