My partner has a stutter. His stutter was probably the worst on our first date more than any other time I've been with him. At first, it caught me off guard. He didn't disclose it before the date, and I'm glad he didn't. I probs would've had some preconceived ideas that weren't true or necessary. After about 5-10 minutes, I got used to it. He was (and still is) a beautiful person, and I fell for him quickly. He doesn't stutter at all when we are together, only when we talk about new topics or with new people. Even if he did stutter the same amount on our first date, I wouldn't care. His speech doesn't define him, what he has to say, his kindness, his actions, how he treats and holds himself, and other people defines him. I'm in love with him, and I hope he proposes one day. I hope that gives hope to someone out there. Most women just want someone kind, fun, and someone who respects them and makes them feel seen.
