Please permit me to share some perspectives as an older man who has had stuttering all his life and at some point said I will NOT let stuttering define me. 1. Pls acknowledge early in a conversation that you have a speech disability and that the other person may see that pop up 2. Briefly state that this is a medical condition and doesn’t reflect confidence or capability, or lack thereof 3. Then just BE - BE YOU.
