Hi! I’ve been stuttering since I was 7 and have a degree in Foreign Languages. So I definitely have experience taking language classes with a stutter. I did contact the disability office, cause it’s always hard to just deal with the goodwill of professors. I had a professor that would’ve happily failed me had I not need protected by the disability office. So I would recommend you contact them and make them aware just in case. This could also help with other classes if you are not comfortable presenting in front of others. In terms of the actual language class, I recommend you do your best to learn the language and enjoy it anyways. Take the class, speak the language even if you stutter, and get used to being heard. It really does get better, and just doing it helps you become more comfortable with speaking a second language with a stutter. Plus, this doesn’t affect your understanding of the language, just pronunciation. Don’t let a stutter take this from you! And if you’d like any more advice or to talk feel free to inbox me.
