A friend I have known for 20 years stutters. I have blockage and his is more of a repetitive stammer. It’s nice to vent with someone in real life. I can hide my stutter if I am really selective about what I say whereas he cannot. So when he is not around, “friends” complain that he spits when he talks and otherwise make fun of him. I make sure to educate him and would like to think he does the same for me. It’s funny because he used to finish my sentences when I got stuck but would immediately apologize since he does not like it when it’s done to him.
