There was a kid in my school who started to stammer as a child when a German shepherd pounced on him. After that...gradually since seventh grade, one by one in my class also started to stammer. He had it as a very small child but many in my class started to get it since seventh grade. Everyone were his classmates when they got it. I got it at the end of my ninth grade. So, I did have company and many of my friends know about stammering. My friends in college also know about it because there was a movie in India which became a hit. It was a regional movie, so people from that region alone know...not sure about people from other states. So, there is a lot more that needs to be studied on stammering.
