Just gotta say, as someone with a more visible disability, it's not more accepted, it's just a different type of not accepted. When I stuttered and didn't have anything else visible going on. It was awkward and weird and a lot of people were dicks. Now I'm a full time crutch user transitioning onto wheelchair with spasms and visible mobility and coordination issues, it's more just people avoid you. Different sort of non acceptance.
