I can personally really relate. I only have a couple friends I've really ever talked to in person about mine, and it's weird. If they bring it up (ask how my speech therapy is going, etc) I start to feel this anger inexplicably well up and I have to stop myself from getting really defensive. I'm guessing (at least for me, your situation could be different) that it's a result of not having talked to anyone IRL about it until very recently, and it's always been a contributor of VERY negative emotions for me (as I'm sure many of us can relate to). So it just really takes a lot of concentration to remember that I have no real reason to get angry when talking about it.
